Shot and killed a potential mass murderer.
Some on the anti gun side are calling him a vigilante.
What do you call him?

It’s good he was there. For once the good guy with a gun worked. But that doesn’t make up for all the other times when that didn’t help.

You realize if someone else had a gun at that demonstration in Kenosha, Kyle Rittenhouse would be dead?
@LeopoldBloom didn't one of the guys who attacked him have a gun?
@FreeSpirit1 skateboard was one.
@markansas And a gun was the other, that's why he shot him, no?
@FreeSpirit1 Anthony Huber, a 26-year-old-resident of Silver Lake, was fatally shot once in the chest by Rittenhouse after he struck Rittenhouse with his skateboard and grabbed Rittenhouse's gun. Gaige Grosskreutz, a 26-year-old West Allis man armed with a handgun, was shot by Rittenhouse once in the right arm and survived.
googled Kyle Rittenhouse shot a person who had a gun or skateboard
@markansas ok, that's what I thought
@FreeSpirit1 James Rosenbaum was the first person Rittenhouse shot when he tried to take his rifle away. Rosenbaum was unarmed. Conservatives make a big deal about Rosenbaum's criminal record, but Rittenhouse was unaware of this when he shot and killed him.
@LeopoldBloom Why would he try to take his rifle away? And hitting someone with a rifle with your skateboard is not very smart.
Also is everything conservative/liberal? Do you not think any liberals agreed with the jury that he acted in self defense?
@FreeSpirit1 Rittenhouse put himself into a dangerous situation, but that's not what he was on trial for. I agree that he acted in self-defense. Although shooting an unarmed person who is trying to take your rifle away could be considered excessive force. As for the skateboard guy, he used the weapon he had. If he'd had a gun I'm sure he would have used that.

Interestingly, this has parallels to the abortion issue. A woman can have consensual sex, but is still entitled to use deadly force to protect herself from the unwanted ZEF, just as Rittenhouse was allowed to use deadly force to defend himself from a situation he put himself into.
@LeopoldBloom The guy with skateboard and the other guy with the handgun put themselves in a dangerous situation, Rittenhouse wasn't on a shooting rampage and they knew it, they were the aggressive ones.
The video shows who attacked who.
If Rittenhouse was walking around shooting people they would be in the right, but he wasn't.
This case has no relevance to my question unless you think no one should be allowed to carry a rifle or handgun.
@FreeSpirit1 Rittenhouse also put himself into a dangerous situation. There was no need for him to bring a rifle to a demonstration. But given his age, the real fault should lie with the cops who didn't take it away from him or ask him to leave. Instead, they thanked him for being there. If a cop had killed two demonstrators and shot a third, it would have been a shitstorm, but since it was a private citizen, the cops basically avoided involvement. Of course, the narrative would have been different if Rittenhouse had been there on the side of the demonstrators and had shot several conservative counter-demonstrators - "violent antifa/BLM lunatic kills peaceful citizens"

Nobody should be allowed to bring a rifle or a handgun to a potentially violent demonstration. If the skateboard guy had managed to kill Rittenhouse, we would have had a very different narrative - "brave citizen kills crazed spree shooter"
@LeopoldBloom If Rittenhouse was there on the side of the rioters they wouldn't have cared if he had a rifle, they attacked him because he wasn't on their side.
@FreeSpirit1 If Rittenhouse had been there to help the demonstrators, the cops would have arrested him.

I still think it's a parallel to abortion. It's OK to kill people who are threatening you, even if you put yourself into that situation.
