@DailyFlash Every person has to go through a NICS background check everytime they buy a gun from a legitimate dealer. The media chooses to ignore this. As far as "power" goes, and I assume you are talking about AR rifles, they are classed in the " medium" power caregory, there are many, many, guns much more powerful than an AR, despite the colorful language of our news media.

@DailyFlash The shooter in Texas had a background check. His whack-a-doodle past never showed up, cuz doing so violates his privacy. Same kind of thing for all the school shooters - there were signs - just never acted on.

@MarmeeMarch in this Texas massacre an unstable 18 year bought weapons and killed 21 within days. It doesn’t seem unreasonable that slowing down the process and giving the buyer a proper background check could save lives. We have to take tests to drive as well. Why not to own weapons. It really doesn’t seem unusually to me.

The bottom line: call 911 and the Slave Patrol will shoot you dead so that they can get a paid vacation that doesn't count against their regular vacation time.

@Diotrephes This looks like a good list of reasons I should carry to protect myself and forget about 911.

@Roadsterrider I personally have only called 911 once when I was in a car accident. Based on my attitude if anyone I know ever called 911 on me I would never, ever, say another word to him or her. That's because the person would be expecting the Slave Patrol to kill me when they show up, as has happened in lots of other cases.
