The Supreme Court just ruled that if State Court interferes with a defendant's rights they can no longer appeal to Federal Court

So, if a State Court refuses representation by a lawyer and a defendant is railroaded into a conviction the defendant no longer has the constitutional right of appeal. Even if the defendant can prove he is Not Guilty. Giving the State the right to execute innocent people.
Is this Clarence Thomas at his very best?

Just curious, but what part of the constitution guarantees the right of appeal to the Federal Court?
@Bushranger Sixth ammendment right to affective assistance to council. There are 2 men on death row now that say their lawyers did not persue avenues that would prove they are innocent. This ruling will give the State the right to execute innocent people.

@Pitchblue Thanks for that, not being an American I'm not that familiar with your Constitution. But it's interesting that as others have said, this seems to have resulted in minimal protests, but even a hint of touching the Second Amendment seems to get people hot under the collar.
@Bushranger The Justice System is supposed to have checks and balances. Like the Supreme Court not being political but it is now. The Courts are being used to railroad people now. It's a team sport. If you protest in a Red State with all the newly installed Republican Judges you might go to jail for years. Meanwhile Mark Meadows committed voter fraud and nothing happened to him.

@Pitchblue It's hard to believe that something like this could happen in a supposedly democratic country.
@Bushranger The Republicans have come out against Democracy. With all the profit going to the top democracy is not sustainable. The Republicans have always been exclusive, the Democrats inclusive. The Republicans don't care about the people of the country. They have always believed their purpose is to serve the rich.

@Pitchblue It's something of a contradiction. From what I can gather, the Republican base is predominately working class or poor (correct me if I'm wrong), yet they support rampant capitalism that keep them poor.
@Bushranger Exactly, they have a long history of voting against their own self interests. They are uneducated and have been controlled with Fear. "The Democrats will take your guns." The Republicans took that fear campaign so far they said, The Democrats would take their Meat away and their base freaked out. "No Burgers WTF! Those evil Democrats." They taught them to hate Liberals at their own expense.
