Yes, with the proviso that there are limits on what constitutes a legal abortion. The standard in Roe v Wade was abortion was legal until the point at which the fetus could survive outside the womb.

This is still pretty much the standard. Note that in some pregnancies, it is discovered that the fetus is defective and will never survive outside the womb, and furthermore leaving the fetus in place can kill the woman. Such pregnancies can be terminated later than usual, but they still meet the 'unable to survive outside the womb' standard.

Yes medical decisions are best left up to doctors rather than random pro life Karens.

I think the baby should be consulted.
After all - the baby is the one that,.... you know

@DocSavage
It’s been going on for centuries. It’s reality.
That does not justify murder.

@Budwick
Humans will always find a way to justify their actions. I doubt very much you can stop abortion by simply making it illegal. But you can still keep it safe.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@DocSavage No one trying to make it illegal, Doc.
Despite what your leftist sources might say.

Are you sure the pro-death crowd are human?

@SatanBurger The law regulates what those physicians can do and when in many states and no abortion goes unreported.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@TexChik Yet the law has no medical knowledge or background so surely there must be a middle ground there somewhere. I don't see the extreme actions of outlawing abortion as seeing a middle ground because if people saw middle grounds they'd recognize that they don't know what happens in other's relationships enough to dictate their life.

Feel free to live in a world where you think you don't do that, it's not the truth though.

I know, right?
Come on man, it's not like the law is a biologist something.
TexChik · F
@SatanBurger Many law makers are also physicians...and is there a middle ground when it comes to killing a child? Is it only half dead because you saw the middle ground or because the parents decided its too much of a burden to raise a child so its better to kill it? That doesnt sound like middle ground to me, and I am certain its not for the developing fetus.

In the absence of responsibility, there must be the law.

It certainly shouldn't be the decision of a bunch of Men who have little to no medical knowledge and are trying to change things to suit their religious beliefs! 😖
Not for long.
doong · 56-60, M
How come the Dick who caused it is not involved ?

What a lucky dick he is
@doong It depends on the relationship, now doesn't it? If he's in one with her, then sure, he gets a say in it. But let's say she was raped or assaulted, or he skipped town after he heard she was pregnant. What then?
TexChik · F
The law also has an interest in the coversation
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@TexChik The law aren't medical professionals who are dealing with the varying issues of female bodies either 💁‍♀️
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
about the same as two murderers about to kill their victim... 🤔
MarineBob · 56-60, M

@DocSavage ok so agree to disagree then 😃
I mean, I think the father should have some say if he's still on good terms with the mother. Outside of that, you've got it dead on.
