Of course he doesn't set gas prices. But when the administration is knowingly hostile to fossil fuels, cancels several expensive projects around fossil fuels, passes bills that encourage use of alternative energies, makes statements around limiting/ending fossil fuels, and refuses to take action to increase the supply of fossil fuels knowing that a war is coming that will spike the prices...
...that will also have a significant impact on the price of oil and gas. If the fossil fuel industries know that the Dems want wind down their business why would then spend millions on developing new energy sources that will only pay off after a 10-15 year investment?
It is absolutely the Biden administrations decisions that are largely responsible for the increase in oil/gas prices that have caused the spike in prices that we are all paying for right now.

@Crazywaterspring But these are symbols of freedom and manhood. Not everyone can carry a gun in public you know...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman This is a red state. Every scared lunatic who wants can legally carry a gun in public.
When driving always assume the other drivers are drunk, armed and uninsured. They won't let you down.

@Crazywaterspring Yes. I get it. Red State Freedom is the freedom to be criminally irresponsible.😷

The US exports more than it imports, I guess because the country is big and the infrastructure not ideal.
If internal movement was easier then maybe the imports would stop and the US could set its own gasoline price. You used to ban crude oil exports to be self sufficient, not sure why you stopped

and what happens when the availability of a commodity is manipulated by the political process for a political end? like now for instance?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman that's kind of the other way around and so of limited relevance
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@GerOttman Its actually exactly the same issue. But an example of what happens if you DONT allow the price to rise so usage drops in line with supply.😷
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I don't agree, it's the supply which is being manipulated in this case, not the price.

His policies are what change its cost, so indirectly he does.

Well duh...

No amount of facts will convince the Trumpistas here that Biden is not personally responsible for oil and gas prices, so why bother trying :)
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User oh that's not it really. it's just that after four plus years of whack-a-doo lefties blaming everything except solar eclipses on Trump, it's funny to see the shoe on the other foot.

That’s exactly right. But what a dumb ass president shuts down a major Pipeline making us much more dependent on imported oil demand goes up then the price goes up dumb ass
At least the picture you have on the post is accurate for your intelligence

@SW-User XL is not the cause, it would be part of the solution however. (am I supposed to say "dumbass" here? not sure of the protocol)
Shaveit · 61-69, M
@SW-User It is what started it that is a fact and then with the additional shortages it was amplified. If the pipelines was running Both the Keystone and the Canadian we wouldn’t be in this mess with gas prices.
Go get a booster shot

. Cancelling the pipelines had no bearing on the global spike in prices. And thanks, I've had my booster.
