Trump's accountants following on the heels of his lawyers
WASHINGTON – Donald Trump's long-time accounting firm – involved in a pair of investigations of the ex-president in New York state – has ended its relationship with his family business, according to court documents Monday.

The firm, Mazars, also said that a decade of Trump Organization financial statements "should no longer be relied upon," said a document included in a court filing by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

James and the Manhattan district attorney's office are investigating whether Trump's company improperly inflated or deflated the values of its holdings in order to secure loans or lower its tax bills.

The document from the accounting firm, dated Feb. 9, was disclosed as part of the New York attorney general's effort to question the former president, his son, Donald Trump Jr., and daughter, Ivanka Trump, as part of the state civil inquiry into the family's business operations.
What does this have to do with anything?

@Driver2 should be considered disgruntled employees

@MarineBob Well, they weren't employees, they were independent professionals contracted to do a job under certain legal and ethical restrictions. And when they also add the caveat that the work they did should not be trusted -- which kills their professional reputation as well as making them liable -- it seems more than disgruntlement.

@dancingtongue My bookkeeper signs her work and accepts full responsibility

@MarineBob As any professional accounting firm or bookkeeper would. So when they disown what they did, that is news and has something to do with something.

@dancingtongue it seems to me that they lied to the revenue departments

@MarineBob Knowingly or unknowingly. And if unknowingly, then they need to sever their ties to defend themselves. And defending themselves probably testifying against their former clients.
