Alliances aren't what they used to be :(

Russia still seems on the brink of invading Ukraine and all the Ukraine-friendly countries are saying they would definitely impose economic sanctions on Russia if that happened. But they would not help Ukraine fight. Canada is even hesitating about whether to sell Ukraine weapons.

I am glad there isn't going to be a world war over this BUT if I were Ukrainian I would feel totally betrayed.

Everyone was extremely careful not to sign any binding mutual defense sort of treaties with Ukraine, for obvious reasons. Any feelings of betrayal would be misplaced.

Ukrainians should have done a Finland instead of a Cuba, I’m not entirely sure what they expected to happen.
