Alliances aren't what they used to be :(

Russia still seems on the brink of invading Ukraine and all the Ukraine-friendly countries are saying they would definitely impose economic sanctions on Russia if that happened. But they would not help Ukraine fight. Canada is even hesitating about whether to sell Ukraine weapons.

I am glad there isn't going to be a world war over this BUT if I were Ukrainian I would feel totally betrayed.

Rest assured IF Russia invades, and I still think that is a big if, the West will be covertly helping Ukraine repel the Russians. Expect covert actions, drone assasinations, and high tech weapon sales to the Ukrainians to help their cause.

While Ukraine isn't Afghanistan, it's not Crimea either and the Russians can expect a lot of resistance to their invasion should they choose to do so. It could get very ugly for Russia, and they've already seen soldiers killed over there during some of their covert undercover operations they attempted to destabilize Ukraine.
