@LeopoldBloom I like it when the headline gives you enough information that you can decide whether to read more.
@Nelladell The problem with that is when people share articles on social media without actually reading them, because they like the headline. There have been a few times where I've pointed out something in an article that someone shared that contradicted their argument.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@LeopoldBloom Yes. I've noticed that happening in this new world.
Steffanie · 56-60, T
My Mother in law. She is insistent that everyone needs to know what was on yesterday’s news, boring boring boring! Send me something that would pretty up my day.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Steffanie I'm with you there.
MougyWolf · 36-40, M
I don't trust any of it anymore, so I took to enjoying nature instead. In this day and age, it's best to be uninformed.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
Actually I heard a minister tel his congregation, while talking about mental health and current events, "Don't watch the news."
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
The homeless guy who hangs out at the bus stop
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@JoeyFoxxLol Bet he's interesting
CestManan · 46-50, F
@JoeyFoxx Twelve p.m. At the soup kitchen
Talking politics with the bag men
Forced into their conversations
Pessimistic contemplations
They tell me of their heart conditions
Share with me their D.T. Visions
Damn me with that bad outlook
Or save me with that "good book"

@Max13 Yeah like a great act of kindness can make the news. Kind of sad we have to put kindness of the news like some sort of strange occurrence though.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Max13 ❤️
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@SW-User Yes. Well, we do usually get in the papers when we are born and when we die and when we get married -- not sure how those events would weigh in.
Byron8by7 · M
NPR - National Public Radio - is my primary news source. "Morning Edition," early morning; "Fresh Air," late morning; "Here and Now," early afternoon; "All Things Considered," mid-afternoon and early evening. "Weekend Edition," on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and "Weekend All Things Considered."

CNN and MSNBC - some of the weeknight evening shows, but not every one, and not every night: Joy Reid, Chris Hays, Rachel Maddow, on MSNBC; Michael Smerconish and Don Lemon on CNN; Alicia Menendez and Mehdi Hasan on MSNBC on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Byron8by7 Man, do you sleep or eat?
Byron8by7 · M
@Nelladell Yes. The good thing about NPR is that I can listen while I do other things.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Byron8by7 Ah yes. I remember that about radio --
Iwillwait · M
News Nation, Fox, CNN and a myriad of other sources on line. I like to pull from a variety of sources to hopefully find an actual Truth.
Iwillwait · M
@Nelladell They're all full of crap! The polarization of information is derived from opinions which "In my opinion," should not be shared or conveyed in any way. Just read the news, tell me what happened, and go to commercial.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Iwillwait Right. Don't need news people's opinion. Just the facts.
Iwillwait · M
Fluffybull · F
The radio, newspaper (we only get a paper on a Saturday these days), MSN UK, Facebook, clients, husband.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Fluffybull From husband. Good source?
Fluffybull · F
@Nelladell He meets more people in the course of his work than I do so gets more local news and info. 😊
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Fluffybull Ah. I see. Thanx.
I haven't watched the news in years.

Is the Confederate still in control of Vicksburg? 😳
@Nelladell [big]NO!!!! [/big] 😱

Yes, it would seem you might be just a tiny bit confused. LOL 🤣
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@PhoenixPhail Like I said, I am not absolutely certain --
@Nelladell (I'm not either. 🤭)
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Hem1ock Ah HA!!

Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ninalanyon That's interesting. We lived in the SW, mostly Arizona, and of course Spanish is very prevalent there. But I hadn't thought of it being so in the south. We lived in Florida and Georgia and didn't notice it at all. I guess different areas --
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Nelladell I think it depends on the bits of society one moves in, I think the English and Spanish speaking communities in the area I mentioned live quite separate lives. I was there on business trips over a period of about ten years, probably nine months altogether, usually two weeks at a time. I spent weekends cycling around the city, going to cafés, shopping for food to take back to my apartment, etc. I hardly ever heard anything other than English unless I went to a particular flea market in an area where there were a lot of Hispanic people.

On the subject of language what I found strangest was that if there was a second language on a product label in a supermarket it was almost always French.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ninalanyon French! That's a far piece from Quebec.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
What kind of news? I like Reddit and sometimes Similar Worlds too. Mostly I get news from books or my parents or brother. 🙈
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Manfredthemanic I forgot there is more than one kind. I was thinking world news --
Lanyx · 41-45, M
I don't. I often stumble across it on social media. I am subscribed to a few YouTube channels.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Lanyx Sounds like you have a healthy interest.
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Radio - quick and easy bullet points within 2/3 mins without ads …

Online web - news sites
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@scorpiolovedeep Ah. I had almost forgotten about radio.
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Haha … lol 😂
We live in a fast paced society ..

That’s ok

@SW-User Thank you.
Scarfface · 46-50, M
Mostly from the BBC, they cover most important things that are going on. I check online for other things.
SW-User
I make it up as I go along ...pretty much the same as all other news sources
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@SW-User GREAT reply.
SW-User
TV, radio and Internet. I hardly ever buy a paper anymore.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@SW-User Oh my. If this trend keeps up we will have nothing to clean our windows with.
SW-User
@Nelladell I know, we don't even get free papers now.
SW-User
I don’t read the news anymore, too doom and gloom
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@SW-User I quite understand.
Multiple sources, both conservative and liberal.
@BizSuitStacy Let me guess, "liberal" to you is Fox News.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I get it from the birds
Nelladell · 80-89, F
