WTG Canada!

Effective today, Canada has banned "Conversion Therapy, advertising conversion therapy and profiting from conversion therapy"! At least Canada has had the guts to ban this heinous practice that has damaged many young lives.

Bill C4 has been approved by both Houses of Canada, Parliament and Senate:

Bill C4 adds the following four offenses to the Criminal Code of Canada, punishable with jail time up to five years as well as fines:

(a) causing another person to undergo conversion therapy;

(b) doing anything for the purpose of removing a child from Canada with the intention that the child undergo conversion therapy outside Canada;

(c) promoting or advertising conversion therapy; and

(d) receiving a financial or other material benefit from the provision of conversion therapy.”

Thank God. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida was trying to work it into the daily school curriculum right now. You know, just to be safe. The [i]last [/i]thing you want is gay racists.

It's a common and extremely lazy form of thinking to look at the struggles and issues sexuality and gender and blame all the angst on the person rather than the society that's demeaning, suppressing and categorizing as 'less than.' A gay person can no sooner be converted to a straight life than all those striving to convert our youth could be suddenly be turned gay.

My God, our species is like 200K old and we're still doing this? For a book written by anonymous preachers and historians and full of misinformation and agendas.

@Graylight It wouldn't surprise me either, Florida is enacting Laws that are mostly based on religious beliefs of the Evangelical Right which has been pushing for things like this in many other States too, our country is Secular and religious beliefs shouldn't be affecting the Laws that Govern us. Canada has been pretty sensible when it comes to any questions on sexual orientation and Gender Identity and CT is a disgusting practice that attempts to browbeat and shame the child or young adult into "praying the gay away", many young adults have committed suicide after undergoing CT because it was unsuccessful, which is no surprise. CT would be like trying to brainwash a dog into becoming a cat, all the brainwashing and praying in the world isn't going to change biology...
