Over 10 Centimeters of Snow Expected to Fall on Sunday


Snow and freezing rain are expected across the Czech Republic. Tomorrow, some areas can expect five to 10 centimeters of snow.

The warning is valid from Sunday at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. especially in the middle of the Czech Republic.

The meteorologists’ warning is valid for the following regions: Central Bohemia (Benešov, Čáslav, Kutná Hora, Sedlčany, Vlašim, Votice), South Bohemia, Hradec Králové (Broumov, Dobruška, Dvůr Králové nad Labem, Hořice, Hradec Králové, Jaroměř, Kostelec nad Orlicí, Náchod, Nové Město nad Metují, Nový Bydžov, Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Trutnov, Vrchlabí), Pardubice, South Moravia (Blansko, Boskovice, Tišnov, Vyškov), Olomoucký (Jeseník, Konice, Litovel, Mohelnice, Olomouc, Prostějov, Šternberk, Šumperk, Uničov, Zábřeh), Moravia – Silesia (Bruntál, Kravaře, Krnov, Opava, Rýmařov, Vítkov) and Vysočina.

“In the case of wet snow, there may be damages to trees and power lines and power outages. While traveling, it is recommended to follow traffic information and drive very carefully,” said meteorologists.

They also recommended not to forget the winter equipment and snow chains when traveling to the mountains.

It has been snowing heavily since Friday morning in southern and central Moravia, where temperatures are around 0 degrees Celsius.
