Can someone knowledgeable say if the Italian army had a large military presence among international forces in Aghanistan that needed many Afghan staff

I believe it to be a skeleton force for HADR missions. The bulk of their forces went home at the end of June

Over 20 years they said Italy contributed 20k personnel

Do you know why they'd send a plane from Italy to take a hundred Afghans to Italy?

Would they have spoken Italian and interpreted for the Italian army?
