I just watched an 85 yo woman beat a red squirrel that she caught in a game trap to death with a piece of wood

She said, “the one thing I can promise him if he comes in my yard is a quick death”, and I replayed the the 3 minute show of slow motion beating by her frail old arms and the poor squirrels screeching in pain for way too long in my mind. Jesus Christo. She kills them because they eat the baby bird and baby rabbits apparently. Wasn’t what I expected to see when I went over there today.

The squirrels in my yard do the same thing....so I trap them like your 85 yr old neighbor and they disappear....
The only way to lower the squirrel population.

@MarbleMarvel I’m more afraid she’s gonna try and kiss me or something. Landlord told me that she doesn’t like anyone, and since becoming friends with her I see that is true, but she told him she doesn’t want me to leave. I’m one of the only people around without my head up my ass, she said, lol.

@Degbeme well that’s my thought. It’s the natural cycle of things. Who’s she to intervene. She puts up bird houses, she really likes her birds I assume. Said she’s seen squirrels try to use the bird houses for themselves that’s when she decided to 🔪
