Food for thought

Do you know we actually get winter twice a year? It's cold in December and January — so technically winter comes twice a year.

By calendar year labeling (counting winters within each year number), December and the following January can be counted as parts of two different "winters."

Ah, I see what you are saying!

But in Wisconsin winter starts in September and goes through June so you have four months in one year and six months in the other, or!!!!!!!!! January to June 6 months plus September to December 4 months of the same year = 10 months of winter in one calendar year for Wisconsinites!

I can take to a place and catch pounds of crawdads aka crawfish all day. But almost nobody catches them. I don't know why. We don't either - no DNR permit license or whatever it is you need
