A curious attitude towards daylight.

It is light in the UK at 6am, yet dark nights are creeping in. Dark at 8pm.

Why do we need that light in the early morning, which so few of us notice or use?

6am is not particularly early for working families. I have much more use for light before 6am than after 8pm.

@SunshineGirl Managing work , family and leisure can be a personal choice, or one which we have no control over.

The importance is there is a balance:

Personally, as you can see, I prefer the daylight, I need that for Art, love relaxing at sunset.

Saturdays have always been family time.

Far more people need it to be light from 6am than need it after 8 pm

Supposedly for the school kids so they have light when traveling in the morning.

@fun4us2b But not at night.

We are told it is for farmers in Scotland, feeding their animals.

@peterlee Well, they generally get out of school at 3PM...but these days they almost always have after school activities...I've heard the farmer thing here to...I think comedian Steven Wright did a bit on the farmers.
