The phrase is also heard in England and I wonder if here, it relates to India - the Asian country that was once called the "jewel of the British Empire", now long independent and I think still part of the Commonwealth.

@JimboSaturn fun fact, on Friday March 21 2025 the sun will finally set on the British Empire (when UK hands over the Indian Ocean to Mauritius)

@tenente What is the world coming too, when a country in the North Atlantic, can't own a tropical ocean on the other side of the globe! Sad times! God Save the King! :P

Ever been to India during the summer? It's hot and humid and not pleasant
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@solitaire I haven't been to India in any season :P I'm sure it's extremely similar to Ontario Canada though.

It's a melting pot during peak summer where I live. Sticky sticky sticky
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@solitaire I know, I was just kidding. Didn't parts of India have record heat this summer?

I am dining outside in it now under the setting sun.

I just ordered two enchiladas.
