Why is January 1 considered the first day of the year?

In Truth...at some point of time the Calendar was first invented and then put into effect
Simular to time zones...everyone knowing when a time ( of day and date ) is..the better life can happen ( and all sorts of things be planed for ( and hence remembered from long ago )
By the way..
Calander is a Construct of Time
Time itself is Actually a Place ( as in a demension to denote where..same as a Map )
