Why go to grandmas if the Storm starts at 10 PM night?

It's too late to go to grandmas. I rather stay home without power since it's night time. Honestly I love blackout because of Candles and listening to Radio...but don't like food getting waste

I have a CD player with a battery back-up and got batteries if the power goes out. Alternative ways to cook too.
