Thunderstorms:
You should see them being born out across the ocean at night, where the entirety of the quickly building storm, miles of tempest tossed sea, is all visible at once.
Especially it is nice if it's heading your way, you can experience so much more than when on land where obstacles can obstruct your view and the impact upon you.
There's first the flashes of raw energy in the clouds that attract your attention. Next the powerful fingers of light are branching, insanely labyrinthine and actinic nets are assaulting the waters, the clouds the very top of the sky!
Originally silent, the distant mu mumbles and rumbles roll across the waters ever louder, stronger. Your chest feels the hidden power. Soon the moist breezes, sharply ozone laden flow about you, telling you, warning you of the Storm's eminent approach.
Next comes the surface mist, wavetops whipped apart by the winds that first precede then bring the rain! Fat drops splatter sporadically, increasing in their numbers, making moving walls that frolic menacingly in ever changing patterns.
It's late, I'll likely edit this later
