I don't know why, but this memory just popped into my head. It was around this time last year; I was out in California on a business trip. It was late, like 11pm, and I just kinda heard the ocean calling to me, weird as that sounds. So I drove down the street to the public beach access, wandered down to the water, and just walked up and down the sand, watching the rough surf churned up by the storm earlier in the night. It was so calming and awesome to be the only one witnessing these magnificent waves roaring under the full moon. I think I must have laid there in the sand for a good hour before I finally left. It was the highlight of my trip by far.
