Why doesn't work have snow day's like school did

I been seeing a lot of videos of people driving in the snow and some of them getting into car wrecks because of it. I'm really curious why doesn't work have snow day's just like the school does. It allows people to stay at home when the weather is bad.

I have worked at companies that did this, and those that did not. But it had to be a really bad snow/weather event to have work off with pay. More often than now, it was announced to have leniency for tardiness or absence.
