Skiing and snow holidays

To me they're something for the elite and privileged types due to the very high cost.

Snow doesn't exist all year in the high areas. I've never seen snow for real life

Do you get to do snow vacation stuff?

Not so much these days. Yes, I am sure there are ridiculously over-priced ski resorts only very wealthy people can afford, but ski-ing holidays at more modest prices are now within the reach of many tourists on more modest incomes.
