Rainbows ... a question.

Has anysones here ever stood under the very end of a rainbow and looked up in to the "core?
Please describe.

P.S. No drugs were abused in forming this question.

I know this isn't a serious question but as a little girl I ran to where the rainbows end had landed in a park right at the bottom of a slide.

The problem was the rainbow kept running away from me. As I moved, it moved. I couldn't catch it and on top of not finding the gold I got into trouble for running off :(

@laurieluvsit I coulda told you that chasing rainbows is like tying a carrot on stick hanging in front of you; you're NEVER gonna catch it! But then wheres the fun in that?😉
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
A rainbow appears to an observer as being along a cone whose pointed top is centered at their head and the cone base is directly opposite the light source. You can make them with garden hoses sprayed in the air in the direction opposite the sun, too.

If you move, the cone moves with you, so you can never reach the location of the rainbow. Everybody sees their own, too.

Just like you can never catch up with the shadow of your head on the ground. If you move, so does your shadow!

A rainbow is always centered around a line of sight. It has no core. It also not just an arc, it's a full circle, but you see only the top part of it

It like looking in a mirror: you can only see yourself f you are right in front of it
Tracos · 51-55, M
@wetncthru I humbly stand corrected
wetncthru · F
@Tracos would prefer you were amused!
Tracos · 51-55, M
@wetncthru and I definitely am amused 😁
plungesponge · 41-45, M
Don't do it. That's when the leprechauns try to grope you
JamesBugman · 56-60, T
Nobody anywhere has ever done this, ever. lol
You find yourself in a haze of every colour, you stand in awe when the colour blue reaches you, you hasten for a kite in hopes to pull down the other colours in simple awe. Then you are done, fini, when the awe becomes drenching rain in the embers of the sun.

Rainbows are just light going through raindrops and being diffracted back to your eye. It depends on where you're standing, wherevthevraindrops are and where the sun is. You can never get to the end.

No, but I was about 50 ft away from the end of one. Every time I go by that place I still remember it.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
No, the closest it came was across the street- it 'moves' as you get closer.
No never been at the end of one. A pot o’ gold there? Pretty though
Neoerectus · M
Dang Leprechaun beat me up and left me for dead. Never again!
Ynotisay · M
Unfortunately that's impossible. But it would be pretty cool.

[big]Not a Rainbow, but I once drank water from a Mirage. [/big]
justanothername · 51-55, M
The law of physics makes that an impossibility.
TexasDude · 31-35, M
No but that sounds awesome
Convivial · 26-30, F
I don't think it works like that...
Lilnonames · F
I didn't look up into it I was too busy digging for my gold.but it was really cool
JamesBugman · 56-60, T
@Lilnonames If we all had a ton of good, we could buy a good house.
Lilnonames · F
@JamesBugman i meant gold🙄
JamesBugman · 56-60, T
@Lilnonames Aww, it was cuter when it was good, good is gooder than gold.
SandWitch · 26-30, F
Yes, I have... several times actually. When you look up into the core of a rainbow, most people don't know this, but the center of a rainbow is actually filled with white milk chocolate.
