Did anyone else get a higher than usual infestation of those green caterpillars on their tomato plants this past summer?

I always go around and remove them everyday from my tomato plants, but this year some of them have been enormous in size! 🐛 😳

Not on tomatoes, but on my pepper plants.

On pepper plants too! Wow, I thought they only liked tomatoes!

@swirlie part of the nightshade family, so im not really surprised.

I didn't grow tomatoes this year. But if I had, and I had gotten those green critters, my bearded dragon would be very happy.

Somebody else? Why not me?

@swirlie I meant somebody else on this website. I didn't mean to say not you.

All our trees of every variety have been covered with slender brown caterpillars all summer and in some cases have killed big oak trees. But I do a lot of vegetable gardening in southern Sweden and it was a full-time job this past summer ridding those green tomato caterpillars from my tomato plants! 🐛

They're fun to play with and they don't bite when they crawl in my hand, but they can't stay so I didn't make pets out of them!

@SandWitch
What do you do with them after you play with them for a while? 😁

@swirlie
I toss them as far as I can into the garden and beyond sight of my tomato plants!

What do you do with your green tomato caterpillars when you find them? 🐛🐛
