Which state is known for lots of trees and neighbors that mind their own business?
I want to hide away and make my own private paradise, with an enclosed area for my cats to sit in the sun and be safe.

Before the calis and east coasters invaded, the Portland area was full of friendly interactive neighborhoods, block parties every weekend all summer long, and lots of wooded areas, you knew who your neighbors were, it was a great time. Now I hear from friends that still live there that everyone keeps to themselves in the newer developments, that no one wants to know anyone else, and the once lush wooded areas are nearly gone :(
