Leaves, leafs, leave — to find home
The cascading leaves
Swirling, flutter, and land
As I take my own leave
The sun shining on me
I arrive to a home
That feels evermore so
Out of place from now;
I belong elsewhere
How to belong?
Watching the lives
Of my attachments change
Fall away like the autumn colors
Not to renew and grow
After the thaws of the same sun
I hope — even still —to belong
To the spring
Of my heart’s concern anew.
