@Longpatrol This part of the Etats Unis was called the Great American Desert, I don't think there were many trees here. When I moved into this apartment, 18 years ago on October 1, there were lots of birds. Including some Northern Flickers, woodpecker cousins, I fed on my windowsill. Used to be about a hundred sparrows that lived across the street in the bushes. And robins, even a hawk every now and then. Now nothing but pigeons.
