The Grand Canyon. Way beyond awesome and breathtaking. ~

You’re looking into the earth at 2 billion years of geological history, and seeing the north rim 10 MILES AWAY.

Grand Canyon Village is 7,000 feet above sea level, and parts of the canyon are as high as almost 9,000 feet.

I was there decades ago. Took my breath away.
Beautiful photos. Hardly does it justice though, does it?
I often wondered how it must have felt for those walking up to it, without knowing it was there.

You are correct. Photos or seeing it on tv cannot do it justice. If you go nothing can prepare you for what you are about to see.

@RedBaron 🤔by looking at the rock formation and how it is layered do think this was formed millions of years ago by volcanic activity then

@smiler2012 As I said in my post, it’s been formed over 2 billion years and is still evolving.
