Not sure if it was a tornado or what at 5:20 yesterday but
Wind went from 0 to 100 in almost no time. My gazebo cover is gone, my table is broken and glass shattered all over my deck, and my hammock got whipped across the yard into the wooden fence.

Edited: here’s one picture my kid took. So I think that the glass shattered because when the gazebo top ripped off, I had a iron wind chime, which wasn’t even heavy and it fell and broke the table.
Just as long as you are alright. Those things can be replaced. We had some winds here, but not to that extent. I couldn`t believe how fast it got dark.
Yep, these microbursts happen this time of the year in many parts of the U.S., and can exceed even 100mph. They are usually short - like 5 minutes or so but can cause a lot of damage.
@Jenny1234 we get them almost every year - often exceeding 70mph and some that exceed 100mph. It's a hard thing to forecast, and so they usually don't get forecasted until just moments before or after it happens.
I was on Lake Huron at Grand Bend playing in a women's beach volleyball tournament. One minute the sky was clear, the next minute we stood there watching as a thunderstorm began to boil up and form over our heads as the breeze began to move inland toward the east.
Then suddenly the cloud exploded and blew backwards in the opposite direction it was traveling and took out our volleyball net AND both steel support poles and deposited them all 100 feet offshore in 5 feet of water!
That's where it all got started was right there at the eastern shoreline of Lake Huron and then moved eastward toward Toronto/Niagara Falls and then on to Ottawa.
