Isn't that a pain? The fire chief here is responsible for activating the sirens. He is an old friend, so I did not waste any time when we had dinner with him and his wife. I told him those damn sirens are freaking out the kids! We don't care if there is hail. Hook echoes on radar, or a funnel sighting are when the sirens are supposed to be used. Hahaha. Glad it moved on down the road.
@Eddiesolds They came on several times. The first time when the wall cloud was forming and then when the tornado was forming and on the ground. It was creating a debris field but when we got in the shelter we stayed a few minutes and it stopped. The air had gotten cooler by then so we watched the meteorologist and the tornado had lifted up and the storm was going northeast of us
@Eddiesolds Someone posted this photo of the tornado that was near here. It came close enough to pull some of the roofing materials off of the courthouse and that’s a couple miles from my house.
@4meAndyou My neighbor had family members visiting, there were 6 of us in the pod. She mentioned the neighbors standing outside watching the clouds and that we might need to make room for them but they didn’t come over. We weren’t in there for long, thank goodness. If everyone who built a new home would install a tornado shelter, or a garage pod, or safe room there would be room for everyone and their pets. That’s what we need to have and do in Oklahoma.
@FreestyleArt Thank you. I think it’s all passed but the rain. It’s cooled down and that’s a good sign. It was warm and humid when I got up early this morning and it felt like tornado weather. It has been really humid the past few days.
