Do you think it was rude that a coworker of mine said I’m not in the best shape to go hiking?

So earlier this week, there’s some coworkers that are going to go on a hike and I asked if I can join. He explained its going to be an hour or two and I would have to keep up be ready because they’re meeting up at the location at 7am. He said, “We’ll I’m going to be blunt for a sec. You also have to be able to keep up and…you’re not really in the best shape. You gotta be in good shape to keep up or active. If you keep wanting to stop, it will be an annoyance. You can still come though if you want. I’m not going to stop you.”
Wow I can’t believe he would say such a thing. There’s a five people that are going but they’re in shape and some are thin.
I’m 5’11” 3/4 (DO NOT SAY 6FT) and over 250lbs but under 260lbs.
I thought he was rude but I didn’t wanna cause a scene.

If u never hiked before and they have you would have a hard time keeping uo. If you wanna start hiking start by lil hikes sround where u live and build up to steeper hills to get muscles and lungs in shape

@Lilnonames So you’re saying you agree with him? I mean I’ve hiked before but only twice when I was 7 and 13. That’s it. That’s when I was slimmer and tall before I went through puberty and got fat.

@LaylaTheTallGirl its not your weight or height its muscles and lungs they need conditioning before u try something strenuous, like any other spirt u have to build up lil by lil if not u can collapse and get muscle ecramps
