Okay, but it took me a long time to make it, that I will admit to! My mom is a professional seamstress and I never inherited her skillset for making clothes!

Store-bought bikini patterns and cut-off denim shorts are about as far as I'm willing to risk on my own, otherwise for something more complicated, I end up running home to mommy where she takes over and fixes everything in a matter of minutes, then makes me a nice cup of tea and tells me to get over it... 🤣

I actually do better with my Dad when I come home crying, because he at least assumes that someone has been trying to kill me as I walk in the door sobbing and he practically knocks over the furniture in his attempt to embrace me with one arm, while grabbing his shotgun from behind the kitchen door with the other hand, placing himself between me and any perceived threat as he looks out the back window across his farmland for the perpetrator...

My mom on the other hand says, "Okay Jen, what did you screw up this time?" as I walk in the door pouting, at which point I'll hand my sewing project to her and she'll instruct me to disrobe and stand up on her little octagonal seamstress platform elevated 6 inches above floor level as I stand there somewhat humiliated for not having great sewing skills to speak of! 🫩

Exactly! The first thing my mom does is calm my Dad down, then she escorts me into her sewing room which is always in a state of readiness for a Hollywood production! Lots of eye-rolling goes on in their household when I show up sometimes!

@swirlie Dont miss with his daughter, may not life to talk about it. I bet there is a lot when you walk in, wondering what is going on. Nice she has that and can fix anything.

She use to completely rebuild my Levi jeans when I'd buy them off the rack because I am tall and have narrow hips and a very thin athletic waist size, which are contradictory size options in women's clothes... we can't buy tall with narrow waist, but we can buy short with a narrow waist!

The jean manufacturers have standard sizes and therefore, buying jeans off the rack becomes impossible for someone like me. So, that's where mom's seamstress skills came in handy (and still do actually..!),

@swirlie Sure clothes are hard to buy off the rack. Just cut them off and wear jean shorts. 😂

That's what I did with my jeans anyway and I've still got most of them on active service, but there's not much left of them anymore! 😏
