Update fellow gardeners

The latest pic is a bit old now - the lawn has been ravaged as all lawns in Britain in our heat wave and as were int he Thames water area I cant do anything to save it but at least we had rain yesterday. I’ll take some new pics… Sorry fo my absense the last two months - Ive actually been busy earning. There was a promo on as well and I could have put out free bids to garden locally for other people - its as though the job came along just in time to prevent me going down that pathway in life !! Lets see how things work out !

I think this year is the best one i can remember fir growing fruit and vegetables. We have had a bumper crop of cherries, now plums and apples and soon greengages, pears and raspberries. Ot must be all the heat making things grow so well.

@meggie Spring was wet (remember that) early summer was dry and sunny, the farmers have had to bring in the grain early which says everything. I fear the later fruit crops may suffer but the earlier deep rooted fruit crops will have been good.

@Captain yes that's right. Things i have grown in the past and not done so well, like pumpkins and peppers, are thriving. My beans. tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers are amazing too.

@meggie In the wild, the blackberries are already ripening - up to two months early!

@ArishMell yes I've noticed that too. We've been eating tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber in June. Our victoria plum tree suffered a snapped branch as it's so heavily laden with fruit.
