How come my roses aren't opening?

I got them 2 days ago.

I diagonally cut about 2 inches of the stems off
I removed the guard petals.
I put them in water with the plant food in it.
I changed the water daily and added peroxide to help the water not get cloudy.
I removed the leaves that are touching the water.

They are starting to look a bit shrived and it only been a couple days
😩

They don't trust you; that's why they won't open up to you.

I wish I could advise. Unfortunately, my thumbs are about as far from green as you can get, lol.
Did you get them at Costco?

@rosyhills If you smelled them carefully and didn't detect any problem, I'd say that's quite odd. You did all the right stuff.
Not sure .. could be pesticides in the soil

Try different soil in a planter under direct sunlight ☀️ 🤗🥹

@ThreeLittleBirds I purchased cut flowers from the store. So what soil are you talking about?
I didn't plant them to begin with, so how am I gonna try different soil?
