Dollar Tree energy and my garden

I needed something to sit on for days when I’m able to pull weeds. I have to be sitting down since I’m so weak these days. I knew Dollar Tree would have a foam mat or something similar.
Usually, the employees look so stressed and worn out. Today, they were pretty energized. One lady was taking a customer who got there before me on a sort of tour around the aisles, enthusiastically explaining that they’re remodeling and that they have all this new cool stuff. Made me happy that she was so happy about it.

And the stuff is cool. I almost bought some funny things for my garden. Like a golden butterfly sculpture or a light-up fox. But, no…I can’t be spending loads of money on things I don’t need. Not till next month anyway. Then I’m gonna get some cute things to decorate with.
I got some marigold seeds because I read they attract bees, a sharper spade so I can dig up stray grass that’s too difficult to rip out bare-handed, and that foam pad for weeding.

I might try planting berries too. Little grossed out because the bugs that lurked on them before I washed them, but it’s worse if they [i]don’t[/i] want to eat the berries, right? That’s what I tell myself: if bugs don’t even want your food, it’s probably not good to eat. Ugh…lol I can see areas they nibbled away at. I toss those ones and any that have obvious holes in them. (Fruit flies have found the grapes. 😭 Where did they even come from all of a sudden?!)

I’m excited. That clerk’s enthusiasm was contagious. I love it. I want to get more garden stuff!
My adopted sister moved out yesterday, and suggested I use the side of the house she’d been using to spread my plants’ area. That was sweet. I didn’t think she noticed anything I did. We barely see one another, and things got really tense after dad died a few years ago. We mellowed out but haven’t been close since. “Bye. Text me anytime about anything. I’ll always answer,” she said. Aw. 🥹
