Meanwhile, getting back to "business as usual"…

Piper · 61-69, F
I'd think even a minor earthquake would be at least a little scary...not knowing if another one is following.
@Piper That’s always the thing. We never really know how bad it will be until it’s over. This morning’s was just a quick jolt, probably unnoticed by most.

Well, of course. It's not as if San Francisco was going to stand by and let New Jersey hog the limelight!
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
3.4?? A mere trembler compared to our 4.8 of yesterday! Pikers!
@ChipmunkErnie No, it wasn’t much.

I live practically on top of the San Andreas. Not more than a block away literally! 🤷🏻‍♂️

The person that started this town was insane! The fault goes through the center of down town where the two main road intersections meet. Right underneath the city hall.
I hope everyone is okay.

Are there any power outages or anything? I have a friend from the Bay Area. I haven't heard from them yet today.
@AmbivalentFriability No, people probably barely noticed. It was like a jolt.

Tip of the iceberg...here comes April the 8th!
@FloorGenAdm The eclipse ? I hope it’s clear enough here to see. April 18 will be the 118th anniversary of the quake that almost destroyed our city.

NJ had a 4.8 yesterday.
@samueltyler2 No kidding, that’s why I posted this.

Copycat! 🤣

Isn't the San Francisco area prone to Earthquakes..I still recall the one during the 1988(?) world series effecting the bridge
@bookerdana Indeed, hence "business as usual". We have light temblors like this one a few times a year.
Loma Prieta (6.9) was October 17, 1989.
NudasPriest · 46-50, M
3.4? That was probably just Trump falling out of bed.
@NudasPriest Seriously. Just a quick jolt.

@bijouxbroussard Yeah, passing trucks shake my house more than that ... though of course the depth makes a huge difference to the feel of a given Richter scale number.
