When An Earthquake Happens At The Same Time A Storm Is Coming To The Area…

It can be confusing like last night. 5.1 near Prague, OK….I thought the storm was here. 😂 Locals are still reporting feeling more earthquakes.

I hope you guys are okay.

@Musicman Yeah, it just rattled the windows some. That’s why I thought it was the storm. The birds didn’t get scared, they used to when we’d have even a smaller one.

@cherokeepatti That's good news 🙂

Do earthquakes happen often there?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Madmonk Hope the insurance company steps up and pays off too. But I think we have to have earthquake insurance for that now.

@cherokeepatti damn insurance companies try to wiggle out of everything

@Madmonk Earthquakes are hit or miss in some areas so why would many people pay extra for that insurance? They aren’t as common as a decade ago either. Companies that got paid to take the salt water and disposed it into oil wells should have to fund the repairs in my opinion. If Arkansas was smart enough to know that it causes earthquakes those companies that accepted it and did it should pay up. Not only earthquakes but they have ruined water wells for some rural folks here. When I worked at Walmart an old man with a farm told me he had to truck in water for his livestock because his well had turned salty. He would come in every week and refill bottles of water and buy it for his personal consumption. I asked him one day if there were oil wells not far from his property and he said yes, and I told him that was the reason his well turned salty. They had disposed of salt water in them and contaminated the ground water. They should have to pay to have water trucked in for that farmer and enough for all of his consumption including showers and personal use and the livestock too.

My first reaction was, IT'S SO COOL YOU LIVE IN PRAGUE! And then I realized that OK, was for Oklahoma. And then I was, oh, I'm sorry, I thought you lived someplace awesome 😆😂🤣

You have Prague as well? 😐 I'm dismayed.

@CrazyMusicLover It’s a town in Oklahoma, they have a Chezch festival every year, a lot of immigrants there when it was founded.

@cherokeepatti That's really cool!
Hope all is well there. Unrelated to the NJ quake today I'm asuming??
Odd pattern across the country though. Wonder if it's a common fault line.
