No. One small red oak in the back doesn't drop that many. Our leaf problem comes in late winter when our huge live oak sheds its small, hard leaves. They are a real pain and hard to rake. I collect most of them with the lawn mower.

I have a pecan tree in the back and a Bradford pear tree in the front yard. They would be easy enough to clean up after they shed their leaves. But the problem is there are mature tall trees in other yards around me so the back yard gets a lot more because they shed their leaves at different times and a lot of them blow into our yard and get trapped by the tall wood fence. . Also the front yard gets leaves from the other yards whose owners don’t bother raking leaves from their huge trees. The winds can get really strong here and blow those leaves down the street and into other yards. And I watched my neighbor across the street take his leaf blower one afternoon and blow all the leaves that had blown into his yard into his next door neighbor’s yard, and they have no big trees in their yard. Now if he wants to clean the leaves from his yard he blows them right back into the street. So leaves keep circulating back and forth to different yards.
Doubtful I will be cleaning the yard up, we get help now to help do that with the first raking anyway.

I have about giving up I have four mature trees and they're all losing their leaves at the same time I am one person and a rake.
I managed to get some down by the road to do pick up and a side yard is full of piles but the backyard is still terrible.
I cleaned out my gutters at least six times already.
I swept my back deck probably a dozen times or more

Only 3 of the trees drop their leaves. The others are evergreens

Never, they are good for the lawn root system.
Rabbit420 · M
@HumanEarth Too many will suffocate the lawn and the grass will die. Unless you have an exceptionally good mulching mower and you mulch them all!!!

In 40 years I never raked my leaves. Never had harm done

No, that's what the gardener is for. 🤣🙃

They makes us put our leaves in 30 gallon bags so the city can compost them.
I raked up 5 bags of just acorns and 15 bags of leaves. I have about 4 more bags to rake up after the yard dries from all the rain and then I will be done for this year!!!!

No, only in Autumn.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Nothing to rake in a desert.
Now sweep is totally a constant thing, all year round.

No. The complex handles it.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Why bother? Just mulch them, lots of nature needs dead leaves to continue thriving.
saragoodtimes · F
the gardener blows them, bags them and makes them disappear

Nope, I leave it to the wind and it does an excellent job of it.
