Trump considers massive bailout of at least $10 billion for American farmers hurt by his trade war.

They voted for Trump. No bailouts. Who better than farmers to reap what they sow?

Except millions of farmers did not vote for him, and according to most polls I've found, more than not do not support the ways in which he has used tariffs.

I understand the sentiment, but do have sympathy for the struggles of the smaller-scale American farmers...even if they just regret voting for Trump.

@Piper where did you find any data about "millions of farmers did not vote for him?"

"During the 2024 presidential election, farming-dependent counties overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump. Almost 78% endorsed his most recent presidential run, and a similar — albeit slightly smaller — percentage backed Trump in 2020."

I am trying very hard to not blame the victims of this current POTUS, but i am sorry, it gets more difficult every day as the nation tumbles downhill into a deep morass.

@PiperTrump was very clear about tariffs, and I suspect farmers felt comfortable voting for him because he gave them subsidies the last time he was President. Well, seems like they are going to get them again. So, they won't suffer, but all of the others who lose their jobs because of Trump will. This seems fundamentally unjust to me.

They are losing overseas markets, so not "feeding America" either.

@samueltyler2 I was mistaken about "millions" not voting for him, now that I've looked further into how many farmers there actually are in this country. I won't delete or edit my comment, but instead just admit that I what I wrote was not correct.

@Piper thank you for that. It takes integrity and guts to admit it when you are wrong.
