I live on a farm.

I live on a sheep farm high up in the hills in Wales. I grew up here with my Mam and Dad and my four sisters and my brother. I am the youngest but one. The others have left home but live quite nearby. They have their own children and have given me 15 nieces and nephews! All of whom require cards and presents!
In September four of us will be in college together, one doing A levels, one doing Motor Mechanics, one doing Art and me doing Furniture Design.
My mornings start at 4 o'clock. Right now it is getting light but in December it is pitch black. I feed the sheep and check they have water for the day. Then make breakfast for everyone and food for the day. And get to the bus stop by ten to seven. Dad takes me. The bus stop is on the main road. It's a B-road. And it is 5km away down some pretty hair raising hairpin bends. Especially in winter when they are covered in ice.
Each evening my job is to tend to the sheep and cook for the family. I often make casseroles because I can make them before and heat them through.

You are, as i have known since the first few times we talked, an amazing young lady.
I grew up on a dairy farm and miss some of the hard work and fun times. I understand your schedule and glad it is for the young 😄I guess the reason this grandfather likes to read your stories and be a very small part of your life is that my granddaughter is 18 and will be starting college in August as a freshman. She is going to the University of Cincinnati Ohio which is about 2 hours away.
She is and always has had a special love for and gift to work with animals, the last few years working for a veterinarian taking care of the dogs and cats that are there either being boarded or there for care. Even dogs that no one else in the practice can handle seem to love her from the start.
So the grampa in me can relate to you. Plus your Christian beliefs and love of God are special.
God Bless you and your special gifts.

It sounds as if you have been living a very full life.

Will this routine change when you start college in September?

@Blodyn Many of us found the experience of moving out of our homes in order to attend college to be an important and rewarding one, even if we feel strong bonds with our families.

@DrWatson What if I am homesick?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Blodyn That's part of it. Sadness and difficulties are part of the process of becoming a newer more independent version of yourself.
