So the random volunteer tomato plant has been transplanted to its new home, and vine taped to a random tomato stake I found in the shed. It’s home is near the open end of the jade hedge where I keep seeing a juvenile possum hanging out, and I’ve placed a water dish out for him, hoping to encourage him to visit more often…he’s welcome to the tomatoes if he wants. Possums hunt snails, slugs, mice and small snakes, so I’m hoping he’ll visit nightly. Meanwhile, the water in the dish will be emptied into the tomato plant every morning…bonus since the tomato needs more water than anything else in the yard.
