@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout burning them at the stake would be more appropriate... 🤔
GoFish · 41-45, F
@wildbill83 if they dropped them into the middle of the fire they started.. that would be dramatic (but cruel) good deterrent tho 😒

true story.. campers used to keep the underbrush low by burning all the crap in campfires year round.
then the greenies and aboriginies locked everyone out of the state lands under native title.
now shit burns like oil every summer.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout doesn't help in places like Australia where you have entire forests of one species of trees like gum trees (which burn like lighter fluid)...
forests are the only place "diversity" actually works...🤔

you mean by clear cutting forests? we can't actually do that as it has massive environmental and ecological impacts....believe it or not it even affects fish.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@beermeplease pretty sure thousands of acres going up in smoke has massive environmental impacts too...
beermeplease · M
@wildbill83 it sure does...no brainer
GoFish · 41-45, F
@beermeplease no not clearing the whole forest just clearing a mile or so between sections of it for fire breaks break it up a bit so it doesn't all burn at once altogether

A very simple solution. If the government cannot maintain their properties it should be sold whether its local state or federal
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@MarineBob or at the very least, lease it out for selective logging, farming, etc.

California refuses to do anything to prevent or diminish wild fires. They would rather it burn so they can resell the property .

logging trails make the best fire breaks, that's why large forest fires in logged forests are rare (they're also healthier with more greenery at ground level); they always happen in restricted federal/state park land where dead trees and dead underbrush continuously pile up...
