The whole "order of operations" (PEMDAS and BODMAS) nonsense is what irks me; I've been a licensed contractor, an engineer for aerospace company, an engineer for heavy machinery company, mechanic, welder, etc. etc.
and not once have I ever encounter nor needed that bullshit; like those silly equations, it serves absolutely no purpose outside of a classroom...
@Notladylike It's still a false dichotomy/hierarchy, especially in complex math and software/hardware programming. It's overuse leads to the necessity to hard code software to ignore it to avoid returning false signals. In reality, order depends on context and priority.
