Nature therapy
I'm not working right now because of a health issue, and can't do much around the house.
Your sense of self worth starts to slide but then you find a blessing. Something I find usually happens in times like this.
Beautiful warm spring morning and I'm just sitting outside trying to shake off days of sitting indoors.
I'm just looking up at the clouds drifting quickly over the blue sky in the stiff breeze.
A vulture appears riding the wind.
I love watching vultures fly. The way they use their big wings like kites and ride the air currents. I can watch them all day.
Then another appears. And another. And another.
Pretty soon there's 7 or 8 of them performing a sky ballet. Sailing the wind like a captain sails the seas.
Then a hawk joins in. He was gorgeous. Raptors are amazing. He was darting in and out of the sailing vultures.
I'm not sure what all the circleing was about out there but they gave me a nice long show before they moved on. On some psychological level this was exactly what I needed today. And it's the kind of thing we usually miss because busy daily life gets in the way.
