I live in the Midwest and I’ve seen fiddlehead ferns grow around here. In some areas the ferns take over entire areas. I forage now and then but sometimes miss the window of time where they are curled up.
Interestingly on a different note, I’ve also seen fiddlehead ferns being sold at a particular Whole Foods market. That surprised me.

@Simulation they're (seasonally) offered at outlandish prices here at most supermarkets and roadside sellers, also. and indeed, they're nothing but common along the water's edge. it always make for a fun romp when allowing the time.

@sp1dwoOfe221 A lot of ‘wild food’ sell at really high prices - interesting considering they are completely free in nature. It’s always fun gathering them and doing a sauté for dinner
