A funny thing is that many vegans who supplement with whey protein don’t realize it comes from milk. They believe that they are being vegan when in actuality they are being vegetarian! As a vegan based lifestyle demands the non-use of animal products. But few realize this to actually be the case. Vegan lifestyle is a near impossible feat on its own. Our bodies submit themselves to a specific system in which over half of the protein found in plant based products is not actually used and instead turned into waste. Where things like eggs or meat actually digest at much higher percentages. 80-90% compared to the 45% in plant products. Meaning you would need to consume over double of what is listed to actually gain the value of the protein!
