I love autumn for many reasons. Here are just a few.
The joy of dancing leaves in the winds.
The swish swish of them too under my feet.
Hiking in the changing forests is grounding for me and my dogs.
The calm before the storms and the cold of winter.
The cool, crisp air of autumn mornings.
The frozen beauty of orange and yellow and all the other tones of sunrises and of sunsets.
The hurry scurry of squirrels getting ready for winter.
The nests animals create. How large. How cozy. How homey.
The joy of people getting ready for Thanksgiving, for Hallowe'en, and for Christmas. The time flies.
Watching the changes in my gardens. Planning for next year's gardens.
Buying warm clothes and warm blankets and cozy quilts and settling in for winter weather.
