Favorite part of fall?

I love seeing the vibrant trees/ leaves... or, enjoying some coffee with an apple turnover. Then a crisp walk afterwards in the fall air. 🍁😌🍎

It is still warm at the beginning, and yet not humid like summer. And leaves are pretty, but they turn later and later each year due to global warming.

Right now, trees are shedding some leaves, but mainly due to drought. It is still warm. But we finally got rain today!

@JoyfulSilence The one thing I miss about living up north is seeing the leaves changing color.

Time for a road trip!

Yet it is way to early, here. But maybe Maine?

I went to Colorado once this time of year, and the aspens were golden.

@JoyfulSilence A favorite place for the people in Florida is the mountains in Georgia. We haven't been though. Maybe next year. 🙂

I love the Smokies!

@JoyfulSilence I have only seen them once from a distance. I would love to actually drive through them.

The road up and over is nice.

And the side trip to Clingmans dome:

@JoyfulSilence Are you lucky enough to go yearly?

I think that was in summer. So long ago, though.

I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway one October. Even then it was a little too early for the leaves. And drought made things worse: leaves dying due to being parched, before cold could make the colors pop out.

I have no plans this fall to travel, though.

@JoyfulSilence Maybe a day trip over the Blue Ridge Mountains?

I plan to take a week off next month, but stay home. I can drive to the mountains of Maryland, though. But I want to sleep in my own bed!

@JoyfulSilence I don't blame you. Have you ever considered a campervan? You could extend out your weekend getaways that way.

No, I prefer hotels.

I just am not ready to travel far, yet, due to my surgery. My neck is still sore, and legs still weak and wobbly.

Also, my eyes are bad. I see the doctor soon to see if it can be treated. I already got lasered for something he saw yet I did not notice. But now I notice floaters. I hope he can laser them, too. Or maybe injections into the eye, or laser surgery, can help.

@JoyfulSilence I am sorry to hear all of this. What did you have surgery for? My wife had cataract surgery. Afterwards she had a lot of floaters. They gave her some prescription eye drops and the floaters went away.

Diabetic retinopathy, caused by damaged capalaries, that leak and get blocked. Then the body compensates with new growth. I can see blood spots and vessels! The laser cauterizes them, and breaks things up, I think.

My doc also said I am developing cataracts.
