I had a coonskin hat in 1956 when I was 6. It came from a department store in Memphis.

Lucky me - - I wore a Davy Crockett coonskin cap AND Pat Boone white bucks when I was a lad 😁

There was a buffet restaurant in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that sold raccoon hats, I should've bought one last year, oh well maybe next time, it was during my family trip.
