@TryingtoLava there are a lot in the uk where old lines exist taken over by nature. a lot where shut in the sixties during beechings cull of the railways in the country think some have be restored and run by private train enthuiasts

This more sad than what is obvious.
You see the steel will be there for thousands of years. Even the wood will not degrade because it's pressure pumped with oil. So at least hundreds of years to degrade.
